Welcome to ALSO

There is a need to provide a forum and safe ground for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) persons to meet and discuss their common interests and concerns, and to provide a network of support throughout the GLBT community.  Additionally, there is a need to inform and educate the community at large about homophobia.  It is our ultimate hope to create and perpetuate acceptance and understanding of homosexuality and bisexuality on campus and its surrounding community in order to improve the quality of life for everyone associated with Plymouth State University.

The purpose of ALSO is to provide the GLBT community in and around Plymouth State University with a forum for the discussion of topics of concern and interest to them.  It is also our goal to provide an educational resource for the general community by maintaining a library with pertinent literature and film on issues of concern to our group.  ALSO sponsors many speakers who speak on GLBT issues, stimulating intelligent dialogue within the campus community.  Also ALSO maintains a network of contact with other organizations with similar goals on the National, State and Local level.
