Preamble
Whereas we believe that group of college students interested in the field of
marketing should organize from mutual benefit, we hereby establish a collegiate
chapter of the American Marketing Association which shall be know as the
American Marketing Association of Plymouth State University.

Article 1: Name
The name of this organization shall be American Marketing Association here in
after referred to as AMA.

Article II: Purpose
Section 1- The purpose of the Plymouth State University Collegiate chapter of
the AMA shall be:
· To foster scientific study in research in the field of marketing
· To develop sound thinking in marketing theory and more exact knowledge and
definition of marketing principles
· To develop better public understanding and appreciation of the marketing
problems
· To discuss and study legislation and judicial decisions regarding marketing
· To improve marketing personnel
· To encourage and uphold sound, honest practices, and top keep marketing work
on a high ethical plan
· To promote friendly relations between students, faculty, and business people

Article III:
Membership
Section 1- Membership shall be open to students interested in marketing and any
other individuals who are approved by the board of directors.
Section 2- In order to be considered as an official member, one must pay the
registration fees set out by the American Marketing Association, and pay the $10
towards our local chapter dues.

Article IV: Officers
Section 1- AMA shall elect from the active membership a president, executive
vice president, vice president of communications, vice president of finance,
vice president of membership, and vice president of fundraising. A member must
say that they would like a specific position. After everyone that would like
said position has stated a small speech for the members, a vote will be held for
these officers. Members that have paid their dues are the only ones that may
officially take part of these elections.
Section 2- An AMA officer may be voted off of the board due to problem aroused
in the collegiate chapter. After an official vote is taken by the current board
members, the vote must be documented and the said officer voted off will no
longer be available as an official officer of this organization.
Section 3- At the end of each year an election will be held for each and every
position running for office. Any member that is currently holding an official
position is welcome to run for that same position in the forthcoming year. For
no reason though may an officer hold a position for more than one year if no
vote takes place.
Section 4- Duties of Officers:
A. The President Shall:
1. Preside over all meetings of the AMA.
2. Prepares and submits a chapter plan or outline the chapter goals and
strategies with input from the board of directors, for final delivery to AMA
international headquarters.
3. Prepares and submits the annual report or report of six chapters of events
with input from the board of directors, for final delivery to AMA international
headquarters.
4. Serves as liaison to the chapter and faculty advisor.
5. Communicates with the board of directors
6. Prior to the completion of his or her term, reviews all files with the
president of elect.
B. The Vice President Shall:
1. Assumes the responsibilities for the president in his or her absence at all
chapter functions
2. Prepares and submits relevant information for use in the chapter plan and
annual report.
3. Prepares and submits relevant information for the six chapter events to the
vice president of communications.
4. Attends all chapter and board meetings.
5. Coordinates and directs activities of all committees.
A. The Vice President of Communications Shall:
1. Keeps all records except financial records.
2. Prepares and handles all written correspondents.
3. Takes minutes at all chapter meetings and keeps a record of these written
reports.
D. The Vice President of Finance Shall:
1. Collects all collegiate chapter funds and deposits them in an account on
behalf of the college.
2. Makes all necessary expenditures when authorized by the president and faculty
advisor.
3. Keeps financial records and submits a financial report to the collegiate
chapter at the last regular meeting of each semester.
4. Performs such related duties as the president shall delegate.
E. The Vice President of Membership Shall:
1. Conducts an active recruiting program to accomplish the membership goals
decided by the board of directors.
2. Reviews chapter rosters from AMA headquarters to ensure all members are
listed correctly.
3. Provides collegiate applications to all new AMA members and submits them to
AMA international headquarters.
4. Attends all Chapter and board meetings.
5. Prepares a final report of the year’s activities, including budget estimates
and recommendations for the next year.

Article V: Faculty
Advisor
Section 1- The student body may elect its own advisor or advisors. This should
be done in conjunction with and as approved by the administration with the
college.
Section 2- The advisor or advisors will serve for at least one full school year,
shall attend the meetings of the AMA, and shall aid and advise groups on matters
under consideration.
Section 3- The faculty advisor or advisors shall act as an advisory member of
the board of directors and shall be responsible for the continuity of records.
Other property of the AMA at Plymouth State University shall also be the
responsibility of the advisor.
Section 4- Additional faculty members may be asked to join or help the existing
advisor or advisors, for special events or projects. However, the advisors will
combine and cast a vote as would a single advisor.
Section 5- The faculty advisor or advisors shall be the official contact with
the AMA.

Article VI: Committees
Section 1- There shall be these following committees:
1. Fundraising
2. Professional Development
3. Public Relations and Communications
Section 2- The vice president of communications will also be appointed an
assistant to help in his or her said duties.
Section 3- The board of directors will have a final decision on all policies
submitted by each of these committees.
Section 4- Each committee is responsible for meeting at least once a week
outside of the official collegiate AMA meetings. Each Committee is also
responsible for submitting a pre-present post plan regarding details expected to
accomplish in said group.
Section 5- The Professional Development Committee is responsible for planning
the execution of all on campus events, including the responsibility of procuring
prestigious and highly accredited guest speakers to the college, and any other
duties delegated by the president.
Section 6- Professional Development committee is responsible for planning
and executing all off campus events, as well as any other duties delegated by
the president.
Section 7- Professional Development and Communications Committee are responsible
for all affairs in regards to alumni relations with the AMA. They will also be
responsible in maintaining and executing an alumni newsletter each month, as
well as any other duties delegated by the president.
Section 8- President and Vice President officers are responsible for keeping
accurate records of membership and the communication with the National American
Marketing Association, regarding up-to-date records. This committee will also be
responsible for working with all other committees and arranging for favorable
publicity for the Chapter and all of its programs; including recruiting new
members into the Plymouth Chapter, and any other duties delegated by the
president.
Section 9- The Appointed Chairperson for the Vice President of Communications
will be responsible for helping for helping in all written communications to the
Chapter, the College, and the community on all events and programs held. This
assistant will also fill in for the vice president of communications when
needed, and work with any other duties delegated by the president.
Section 10- The President shall appoint any other special committees at deemed
necessary.

Article VII: Meetings
Section 1- All of the Plymouth State University American Marketing Association
meetings will be run at least once a week when it is best applicable for all
Board members, as well as members.
Section 2- When a special meeting is to be held outside of the official meeting
time, all members shall be notified via e-mail or by phone.
Section 3- The Board of Directors will meet once a week with all of the
Chairpersons of each committee outside of the official AMA meeting time.
Section 4- Attendance will be taken at every meeting and members that
participate in the meetings will be awarded by a point system.
Section 5- Minutes of each and every meeting will be saved in the AMA M Drive so
that they may be recorded, and distributed for the Board of Directors. As well
as for future Chapters referrals to each years work.

Article VIII: Records
The records of the Plymouth State University American Marketing Association
shall consist
of a minutes book, membership records, financial records, as well as any other
such records
as the Chapter deems necessary. A copy of these records shall be sent to the
National AMA
for their reports. Each Board of Directors will be appointed with there own
personal
notebook, and it is their duty to maintain up to date records of their position.
It is then the
duty of the president to collect all notebooks and submit them at the end of the
term.

Article IX: Amendments
Section 1- The Constitution, together with its bylaws, shall constitute the
operating basis of the organization.
Section 2- The Constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the members
present, with proper notification having first been given to the entire
membership.
Section 3- All members in the Plymouth Chapter of the AMA will be given a copy
of the constitution upon entry of the Collegiate Chapter.
Section 4- Bylaws may be added or amended by a majority vote of the members
present after proper notification of the membership.

BYLAWS OF THE AMERICAN MARKETING
ASSOCIATION COLLEGIATE CHAPTER AT PLYMOUTH STATE UNIVERSITY
Number 1- The Collegiate Chapter will be responsible for renewing its chapter
with the national association each year. Upon notification by the association,
the chapter will submit the following to renew its affiliation:
· Collegiate Chapter Official Report Form
· Chapter Membership Roster and Renewal Fees
· Any Changes in the Constitution
· An Official Chapter Plan
· Other items as indicated by the Association
Number 2- The American Marketing Association at Plymouth State University
Chapter’s dues shall be paid to the Vice President of Finance. Along with the
Collegiate Membership dues, each member must also pay an additional $10 towards
the Plymouth Chapter.
Number 3- The Constitution shall be renewed annually by all of the officers as
well as faculty advisor. This is to insure that it is in keeping with the needs
and activities of the Collegiate Chapter.
Number 4- The number, location, and times of all meetings shall be determined by
the Board of Directors. Notice of all such meetings shall be posted or sent in
writing to all members no less than five days in advance of the date set for the
meeting.
