Barbara Boschmans
Biography
I am a Belgian Citizen.My
relatives live in a town outside of Antwerp. After
finishing high school I moved to the United States in 1990 to be an exchange student
in California.
After visiting Flagstaff twice during
my exchange-student year, I applied to Northern
Arizona University. I received a Bs.Ed. in Mathematics in 1995 and a M.A.T. in Mathematics in
1997. The next two years I spent teaching mathematics at Arizona State University . I
returned to Flagstaff in 1999, where I was an
instructor in the Department of Mathematics
and Statistics at Northern
Arizona University
until 2003. In the spring of 2000 I was accepted in the Ed.D. program of Curriculum and
Instruction in the College of Education.
My research interests are in mathematics education and integrating technology in the classroom. I
finished my dissertation on May 9th 2003, got married on May
24th 2003 and moved to Plymouth, New Hampshire in July! I currently work as an associate
professor in the Mathematics Department at Plymouth State
University.
I have the sweetest cat in
the world (with a little attitude). I love Belgian
chocolates and
I am excited that they are selling the best Belgian chocolates here in the United States!
I have become somewhat Americanized and I now watch sports: basketball and American football. I even joined a Fantasy Football League. I also have an interest in art
history; my favorite painter is Belgian. I like listening to
music and I enjoy going to concerts. My favorite musician passed away a few
years ago, but am now a big fan of a
band that is
incredible. Brian and I purchased our first home on May 3rd 2004 and will be working hard in it, for the
next few years! We have two daughters named Isabelle
and Noelle.
