Newton was an extraordinary figure because he had so many contributions to different fields of science; mathematics, optics, light, color, invention of the laws of motion and gravity, chemistry and many others.
His written work, which contained the revolution in calculus and mechanics on paper, was called the Philosophiae Naturalis Principia. This work clearly and mathematically defined principles others had not and the proof of these principles really made Newton's Principia remarkable.
The Newtonian Revolution was different from the others in that
Newton was said to have created a revolution in his own lifetime. His
concepts, philosophy, and principles definitely were enlightening to
say the least. He was recognized by scientists and historians for his
revolution, which is considered one of the biggest revolutions of all
time.
