1 pt - Article attached (if not attached i will not grade; if article
is later delivered then I will deduct 2 points
1 pt - Citation
First paragraph (4 pts total)
1 pt - topic sentence (generally write these last....)
3 pts - at least four well stated "bits" of information including
some methods, some results, some discussion (conclusions)
Second paragraph (4 pts total)
1 pt - topic sentence
3 pts - at least 3 "pairs" of compare and/or contrast article vs book
(or lecture notes)
Use words like "Both......"
and "While....."

2) General Comments on Grading
• Low points but few marks - major issues
• checks - generally carry one point of credit
- no check on topic sentence - need to revise
3) Specific Comments
• AWK - awkward sentence construction - revise for clarity
• Strengthen - you need to get more details into this sentence

• Unclear/Vague - you need to clarify the meaning of the sentence
• Weak article - has less/little to do with A&P than other articles
that you could choose --> you should probably choose another
• Use no quotes - you must put the info in the article into your own

it aloud to yourself or a friend --> revise
• Book? (or) Article? - where is this information form - be sure to
be explicit and cite your source
• Broaden - often the topic sentence will be too specific --> it will
not adequately introduce the paragraph --> here you need to write a more
• general topic sentence (Just be sure that it does contain a few specifics....)
• Citation - you need to cite the article at the beginning of your
paper
• anything that is underlined - wrong word, check spelling, etc.
