1.  What elements are essential to the methodology presented in Chapter 8?  [ Hint:  This is straight from Frenzel p. 227.  Please answer with a list of buzzwords or phrases that represent the "elements" asked for in the question.  See also p. 219]

2.  Identify the six major phases of the application development life cycle.   Write a short sentence describing each of the elements.  See also: p. 236 ..and on

3.  Give a short definition of each of the following:  a)  4GLs, b)  CASE, c)  Object Oriented Programming, d)  Java [p. 263..on]

4.  What is the relationship between "re-engineering" and "distributed processing"?  [p. 292]

5.  Discuss the similarity in the actions required to manage IT problems and the actions required to manage IT change.

6.  Identify as many different "measures of performance" as you can from pages 370 and 371.

7.  Assume that you are Director of IT for a major firm.  You have just spent months writing a proposal that would put most of your company records up on the Web, some of which will be accessable by customers, others by employees, others by stockholders.  You are now being criticized by a small minority of the Board of Directors for proposing 1) a too costly of an effort, b) a threat to record confidentiality, and 3) being overly influenced by the Internet fad.  How will you respond to their criticism?
This question is an opportunity 1) to conjure up an original thought or two regarding IT, and 2) to express it clearly and concisely (i.e. focused and short).  I doubt that there is a single "right" answer,  instead I hope to read some "educated commentary", albeit hastily constructed!
