John Thomas Curtis (1913 - 1961)

	Curtis began his professional career as a physiologist, but spent the last fifteen years of his life as a professional ecologist.  In this short period of time he produced a large number of graduate students and helped to establish the strong roots of the ecology at the Univesity of Wisconsin.
