High School Students in New Hampshire-
A Journal in which to publish your writing!

High School Voices

Voices From the Center, a publication of the Women’s Services and Gender Resources Center at Plymouth State College, is compiling its sixth volume.  This year, for the third year in a row, we are soliciting writing from high school students in New Hampshire. We are looking for fiction, essays, poetry and narrative which speaks to the core or essence of our experience of life.  Voices from the Center was created in 1995 as a place where writers and artists could deal with “taboo” topics, and a safe place to tell their stories. Last year, the publication was coordinated in conjunction with English education majors, in association with the Plymouth Writers Group.  We launched High School Voices, dedicating the publication to high school writers.  We are planning to invite authors of accepted pieces to our second annual one-day writing conference in May at Plymouth State College.

Please send two clean copies of your manuscript.  Manuscripts should be up to  3,000 words in length and single spaced (approximately  6 pages maximum).  The name, address, telephone number, sending school, grade and sponsoring teacher of the author should be included on a title page, but not on the manuscripts. We will accept only three submissions from each author, so meet with your teacher and select your best work.  Send to:
