There are times
I start
spaghetti sauce,
then put diapers to soak.
One by one,
ripe plum tomatoes
fill the washer,
the big pot
on the back burner
simmers
garlic,
linguine,
and laundry.
At the supper table
my spouse
encounters
linguine and
plastic pants.
I use bleach,
but
shirts and undershorts
stay pink.
The red stain
on the baby
is not a rash.
Tomatoes do not
hold pins well.
